Release opening registrations 8th FIPC


Children and young people from all over the world are invited to participate in the competitive show that takes place in Rio in October.

From March 25th, those who want to participate in the 8th edition of the International Film Festival (FIPC) can already send their short films to the selection. Created in 2010 by the actress and producer Daniela Gracindo, FIPC presents an overview of the audiovisual production of children and young people in Brazil and in the world. Registration is free and can be made until May 20 at www.pequenocineasta.com.br. The selected films will be shown in October, with free admission, in the cinema room of the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil – Rio de Janeiro (CCBB). The 8th International Small Film Festival is sponsored by the City of Rio de Janeiro City Hall, the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Culture Secretariat and the GLOOB Channel, through the Municipal Culture Incentive Law.

Small filmmakers must be between 8 and 17 years old and produce a short one to 10 minutes long. Every kind of film is welcome: fiction, documentary, experimental and animation. The theme is also free. The cast does not have to be formed by children or young people, but the works must reflect the opinions and thoughts of the children and young people involved in its creation. The category that the movie will compete will be defined by the age of the older participant. Educators, teachers and instructors can guide young people in matters related to technical support, such as editing, equipment operation, production, etc., but there can be no interference in the creative process.

The short films must be sent by email via download link accompanied by photos of the publicity and the making of. Works containing messages that violate human rights or democratic values ​​will not be accepted. The films in competition will be evaluated by a jury composed of children and young people who already have experience in performing audiovisual works. The public also chooses its preferred in the national and international competitive, divided in two categories: from 8 to 12 years and from 13 to 17 years. The winners take home the Little Filmmaker Trophy and a professional Kodak clap.

In seven editions, the festival received a total of 1,184 films from 43 countries, reaching a direct audience of more than 46 thousand people. Since its inception, FIPC has been attended by renowned professionals from other countries, enabling the exchange of new knowledge and processes of achievement.
